We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons:
God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit (II Corinthians 13:14II Corinthians 13:14

The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen.

The doctrine of the Holy Trinity is a revelation given in scripture.

God is one (indivisible).

    “Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one!
    – Declaration is made to Israel by Moses that our God is one God.
  • Deuteronomy 32:39aDeuteronomy 32:39a

    ‘Now see that I, even I, am He, And there is no God besides Me;
    – God emphatically states that He is the one and only God.
  • Isaiah 45:21-22Isaiah 45:21-22

    21 Tell and bring forth your case; Yes, let them take counsel together. Who has declared this from ancient time? Who has told it from that time? Have not I, the Lord? And there is no other God besides Me, A just God and a Savior; There is none besides Me. 22 “Look to Me, and be saved, All you ends of the earth! For I am God, and there is no other.
    – God declares Himself to be the only God and Savior.
  • I Corinthians 8:4I Corinthians 8:4

    Therefore concerning the eating of things offered to idols, we know that an idol is nothing in the world, and that there is no other God but one.
    – In contrast to the many idols in the world, there is only one God.

 

God is three (distinguishable).

  • Genesis 1:1Genesis 1:1

    In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
    – The name of God is Elohim: Divine Ones (plural), as used in the original Hebrew text.
  • Genesis 1:26Genesis 1:26

    Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over [a]all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”
    – The Godhead is in conversation concerning the creation of man.
  • Matthew 3:16-17Matthew 3:16-17

    16 When He had been baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened to Him, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting upon Him. 17 And suddenly a voice came from heaven, saying, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”
    – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit were involved in Jesus’ water baptism.
  • Matthew 28:19Matthew 28:19

    Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
    – Jesus commands all His disciples to be baptized in the name of the God in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
  • John 1:1-2John 1:1-2

    1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God.
    – The Word who was God was also with God in the beginning.
  • Luke 1:35Luke 1:35

    And the angel answered and said to her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God.
    – The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit were involved in the virgin birth.
  • John 4:23-26John 4:23-26

    23 But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. 24 God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” 25 The woman said to Him, “I know that Messiah is coming” (who is called Christ). “When He comes, He will tell us all things.” 26 Jesus said to her, “I who speak to you am He.”
    – Christ the Son expounds that God the Father is Spirit and must be worshiped in spirit and in truth.
  • John 10:35-38 John 10:35-38

    35 If He called them gods, to whom the word of God came (and the Scripture cannot be broken), 36 do you say of Him whom the Father sanctified and sent into the world, ‘You are blaspheming,’ because I said, ‘I am the Son of God’? 37 If I do not do the works of My Father, do not believe Me; 38 but if I do, though you do not believe Me, believe the works, that you may know and believe that the Father is in Me, and I in Him.”
    – The relationship between God the Father and God the Son.
